GPS and route planners in the Netherlands
An interesting option for planning your route in Holland is the routeplanner for cyclists. It's also available in English and German. You can select things like the most scenic or shortest route, include B&B's or windmills in the route. You can download it as GPSroute, print it on paper, etc.
Apart from routes on paper and maps you can use GPs routes to get around the Netherlands. Useful sites for downloading GPS routes are:
- OpenFietsMap is an excellent free routable cycling map for Garmin GPS units
- Route You shows lots and lots of cycling routes all over the country, from half a day rides to long distance routes. On the site you can also choose an interface in German, French, Spanish or Italian. Apart from routes for cyclists you will find routes for hikers, motorbikes and other tourists. You can also publish and share the routes you created yourself.
- On GPS tracks you can download hundreds of cycling routes arranged by province, ANWB cycling routes, LF routes and cycle networks in GPS. It's also possible to download the routes in Google Earth to get an impression
